Govan Systems Inc ("Govan Systems", "we", "us") operates govansys.com and the products listed on it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have.

1. Information we collect

a. Information you give us

• Contact details you submit through forms on this site — name, email address, telephone number, and the content of your message.
• Account information when you or your organisation use one of our products, including name, email address, and telephone number.
• Business information your organisation provides in the course of an engagement.

b. Information collected automatically

• Standard server and application logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps.
• We do not use advertising trackers or sell behavioural data.

2. How we use information

• To respond to enquiries and provide the services requested.
• To operate, secure, and improve our products.
• To send service communications about something you asked for — including text messages, where you have opted in. See section 4.
• To meet legal, accounting, and security obligations.

3. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only:

• With service providers acting on our behalf — hosting, communications, and payment processing — under contracts that bar them from using it for their own purposes.
• Where required by law, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
• With your explicit consent.

4. Text messaging (SMS/MMS)

Where one of our products sends text messages, we collect the mobile telephone number provided and a record of the messages exchanged, so that the sending organisation can see the conversation and respond.

Messaging is opt-in. A person provides their number and agrees to receive messages; consent is never assumed from us holding a number, and is never a condition of purchase or of receiving any service. Telephone numbers are disclosed only to the messaging carrier and to our messaging provider, solely to deliver the messages that were asked for.

5. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as the relationship is active, and afterwards only where retention is required for legal, accounting, or security reasons. Aggregated information that cannot identify a person may be kept indefinitely.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access controls, and regular review. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Your choices and rights

• Ask what we hold about you, and ask for a copy.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Withdraw consent to text messages at any time, by replying STOP or by contacting us.
• Unsubscribe from any non-essential email.

8. Children

Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page with a revised date above.
